Of double-walls of pear-shaped body tapering to a long neck to a flared rim, the exterior wall carved with floral scroll in pierced openwork, the interior with a smaller pear vase of solid wall, applied overall with a thick grayish-blue glaze suffused with wide network of iron-gray crackles, the foot ring unglazed revealing the dark body.
Height: 8 1/4 inches (21 cm).

From the collection of Captain Edward Pearce, Annapolis, Maryland, who served the U.S. Navy stationed in Japan, and England during the 1960s to early 1970s.
