Provenance: The painting was inherited from consignors parents, who were Real Estate Developers. They came from humble farm working backgrounds to become successful in the recreational property field selling land and homes in the mountains of California for over five decades. They built many structures including the first office park in San Ramon Valley, The Deerwood Corporation offices.
In 1983, they opened the first purpose built timeshare in California, Mountain Retreat Timeshare Estates, located in the Sierras in Arnold, California. The painting was commissioned directly with Mr. Ken Wessman for this project to fill in the space behind the counter. It showed the many recreational possibilities offered in the area.
The painting was subsequently moved about ten years later to our office in Willits, CA where we sold Redwood properties for many years in a subdivision called Brooktrails. When we closed our office in Brooktrails, the painting was removed to consignors storage in Alamo, CA, where it has been ever since.
Condition: Surface dust/dirt, tiny paint chips, minor craquelure and aging cracks, no visible inpaint under UV light dirt pockets verso.
