Circa 1920.
The vase modelled in three sections domed cover baluster-form body, and waisted ankle, the mounts molded as arching scroll molded foliate handles to sides, over square base with curb cuts, with brass insert to neck,and inverted acorn knop. The vase painted with gilt bands to rims, neck, foot, and in polychrome enamels with Rococo style couple in plein aire, to front, and Impressionistic scene by water, signed by C. Velly to lower right of front. These scenes resered by remarkable cisele paste gilt scrolls, leaves, and foliate elements, and with scattered floral sprays in enamels.
Interlaced Ls enclosing O, spurious marks for the Sevres factory.
Approximate dimensions: 20 1/2 high x 9 1/2 wide x 8 inches deep..
Condition: Very good overall condition, albeit some of the extensive gilt banding to neck is now absent due to the application of tape to the surfaces, in order to keep the cover in place. Minor scratching and wear to surfaces.
