Each potted with a pear-form upper section joined with a globular lower bulb,covered overall with a brownish-black glaze accented with buff-colored spots arranged in concentric rows around the body, the glaze stopping neatly above the foot revealing the buff granular body.
Height: 12 1/2 inches (31.8 cm) each.
Provenance:
From the collection of Captain Edward Pearce, Annapolis, Maryland, who served the U.S. Navy stationed in Japan, and England during the 1960s to early 1970s.
